Matthias Schoenaerts' Career
Schoenaerts made his acting debut from his homeland movie Daens at the age of 13. The movie was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. The European Film Promotion had enlisted him as one of Europe's Shooting Stars.
After appearing in several short movies and feature films, Schoenaerts got his breakthrough from the movie Bullhead, directed by Michael R. Roskam. His performance in the lead role earned him the FIPRESCI Award at the Plam Springs International Film Festival and the movie was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Oscar.

He has performed on international platforms as well. He has starred in the French thriller Disorder. The brilliant actor is making his directorial debut from the documentary Franky which is in post-production.
Schoenaerts has many films under his sleeves which will soon release. His movie Kursk with the director Thomas Vinterberg is set to release this year. He will also be seen sharing the screen with Casey Affleck on HBO's miniseries Lewis and Clark produced by Tom Hanks, Edward Norton, and Brad Pitt.
