Levine began musical career as guitarist in the band Maroon 5 Jesse Carmichael. They released first album called "The Fourth World” in 1997. Then he went to New York to study music at Five Towns College but he dropped out of school after a semester and back to California and develop their band. Levine began writing lyric and released debut album "Songs about Jane" He is front man of the band Maroon.

Levine was in relation with Anne Vyalitsyana, but married to Behati Prinsloo in 2013 and had divorce in 2014, just after a first wedding anniversary. Despite these Levine and Prinsloo spend time together on social media.
