Adriano Zumbo is a well-known Australian patissier popular for his croquembouche tower, V8 cake, and fairytale house on MasterChef Australia. He was born on 6 November 1981 in Australia and grew up in Coonamble, New South Wales along with his family of Italian heritage.
In the 1990s, he became popular in numerous Australian and French pastry chef programs. He completed school at the age of 10, he moved to Sydney to start his pastry chef apprenticeship in 1997. He worked under the numerous culinary icons Ramon Morato and Pierre Hermé.
Adriano Zumbo began his career by providing muffins, brownies, homemade tarts, and banana bread to local cafes in Sydney. Later, he sold goods to the grower's market before opening his first patisserie at Balmain in 2007.
Currently, he has his own six patisseries: Pyrmont, Balmain, Chatswood, Rozelle, Waverley, Melbourne, and the Queen Victoria Building in Sydney's CBD. Apart from this, he appeared as a guest judge on MasterChef and an observational documentary series. He has also worked with Matt Preston, Tina Hobley, and Christina Tosi on MasterChef.
Zumbo is also popular as an actor and has featured in a documentary television series, Zumbo, in which he showed the daily routine of the chef at his Balmain kitchen business. It was aired on SBS on Thursdays at 7:30 pm in 2017.

Once, Adriano Zumbo was caught underpaying staff restaurant Kitchen Republik, in Box Hill, and was penalized $100,000 after it “grossly exploited” a visa holder from Taiwan through underpayments worth more than $30,000 in less than nine months.
