Alan Tudyk is an American actor and a voice-over actor who is best known for appearing in the short-lived TV show Firefly. He is also the voice of Simone in the movie Alvin and The Chipmunks.

Tudyk was raised in Plano, Texas, where he attended Plano Senior High School. He studied drama at the Methodist-affiliated Lon Morris College, where he was awarded the Academic Excellence award for drama. He then enrolled in Juilliard School but left in 1996.

Alan Tudyk had a short-spanned career as a stand-up comedian as he left after an angry audience threatened to kill him.
His first break as an actor was as Gerhardt, a German gay drug addict, in the movie 28 Days. In the movie, he played aside Sandra Bullock and Viggo Mortensen.
Alan has portrayed many short roles for movies like A Knight’s Tale, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. He also played the role of Sonny in the 2004 film I, Robot.
