In 1989, Elise married Maurice but her happy married life with her husband Maurice ended with divorce in 2005. The reasons for the divorce are still unknown. Two years later, in 2007, Elise's ex-husband passed away due to a massive blood clot.

After the tragic demise of Maurice, Elise was left alone to take care of AjaBleu, born on March 16, 1990, and Butterfly Rose, born on October 19, 1998. It has been reported that the daughters were living with their mother when they received the sad news.
