Ne-Yo first met Crystal in a business meeting
It was Ne-Yo's video shooting for his 2015 album Non-Fiction where he met Crystal who was chosen as the model. As per Ne-Yo said,
“We met at a restaurant, but she showed up two hours late. She explained later why that was: She was just trying to get some info on me: who I was, if it was really going to be a business meeting or if I was some creep.”
After that Ne-Yo knew she was the one and soon the couple was dating each other. After the release of the Album in January 2015, Ne-yo and Crystal were seen celebrating it together where suddenly Ne-yo proposed her; it was a funny proposal though.

Well, Crystal instantly accepted the proposal and said:
‘I love you, I can’t live without you,’
Happy to hear Crystal's reply, Ne-Yo shouted in excitement,
‘Well, why don’t you f—ing marry me, then?’
And the couple was engaged.

When Crystal was nine months pregnant, the couple had a shotgun wedding in a gorgeous, oceanside ceremony with few close friends and family on 20 Feb 2016.

Crystal looked sizzling in her v-neck, white lace gown with a maternity fit. The location was complemented with a sparkly pewter color and all-white scheme. All things from a Swarovski crystal-adorned, 6-foot-tall Royal Cakes to a fairytale-like flower, everything looked perfect.

Ne-Yo and Crystal welcomed their first child together
Ne-Yo and his beloved wife Crystal welcomed their first son together just a month after the couple's wedding in March 2016 whom they named Shaffer Chimere Smith, Jr.
