Robert William Flay, professionally known as Bobby Flay is a celebrity chef, restaurateur, and reality TV star based in the United States. He is best known as the host of several TV programs on Food Network. Moreover, he is also the owner and executive chef at Mesa Grill based in Las Vegas, Car Americain in New York. His another restaurant Bobby's Burger Palace is in 11 states of America. 

Born on 10th December 1964, the 53-year-old is among the most successful chefs in the world, and he can be compared to the most popular chef Gordon Ramsay. Moreover, he has appeared in numerous shows like Iron Chef, Throwdown! With Bobby Flay, Boy Meets Grill, Meet Bobby Flay, and many others.

Bobby Flay Career

Bobby had a passion for cooking from a very young age. He dropped out of school when he was just 17 and started working in a restaurant. He initially worked in  Baskin-Robbins and pizza parlor. Later, he started working at Joe Allen Restaurant as a salad maker. His father was the partner at the restaurant, and Joe Allen, the owner of the restaurant, was so impressed with him that he decided to pay for Bobby's tuition at French Culinary Institute.

He graduated from the institute in 1984 and soon he started working as a sous-chef to learn culinary arts. He worked at numerous places to sharpen his skills, and later he was hired as an executive chef at Mesa Grill. He soon became partners with the owner of the restaurant, Kretchmer and opened Bolo Bar & Restaurant. 

Apart from working in restaurants, he has also appeared on numerous TV shows, which are not all related to cooking. He is also an author and has written numerous cookbooks like Bobby Flay's Bold American Food, Bobby Flay Cooks American and many others. Recently on 5th December 2017, he announced the release of his latest cookbook Bobby Flay Fit.

Being such a brilliant name in the culinary industry, he certainly has won many awards which also include 6 Daytime Emmy Awards. His name was inducted into the Culinary Hall of Fame in 2015. The same year, his star was also inducted on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Apart from his career in the culinary world, he also has an interest in Thoroughbred horse riding. He owns a handful of graded stakes race winners like More Than Real, Creator and many others. In 2014, he also was a candidate for chairman at the Breeders' Cup where he serves as one of the boards of directors.
