Amy Goodman born on April 13, 1957 (age 59) is well known as Author, Syndicated columnist, American Broadcast Journalist and Investigative reporter. She has been awarded with many different titles for her books and her diligent work for Journalism. Amy has face lots of circumstance like detained, arrested and even beaten till worse. She also won Best Documentary Feature for narrating the film.
Amy Good was born on Bay shore, New York on April 13, 1957, having American nationality. Her father name is George Goodman and mother Dorothy Bock. She is white Ethnicity. Amy had completed her study from Bay Shore High school in 1975 and went to Radcliffe College in 1984 and has a degree in anthropology. Later, she joined College of the Atlantic. she got married Denis Moynihan and her husband is a writer. Amy is 6’2’’ with 71 kg. Amy came in limelight in 1991 because she was badly beaten by Indonesian army for witnessing mass killing also known as Santa Cruze Massacre. In 2008, she was arrested at Republican National Convention while reporting on an antiwar protest outside RNC. Later in 2009, she was detained at Douglas Border Crossing into Canada for 1.5 hours. Again in 2012 September, there was an arrest warrant for covering the Dakota Access pipeline protests and faces Riot charges and got dismissed on Oct. 17, 2016.
Amy has also earned lots of awards. On Oct. 2, 2004, she got Islamic Community Award and Thomas Merton Award on Nov 18. She was also awarded National Prize for creative Citizen in 2006, Right Livelihood Award in 2008, Izzy Award for special achievement in independent media in 2009 and last but not least Gandhi Peace Award for Contribution to the Promotion Of Enduring International Peace. She is also the author of many books such as “The Silenced Majority” published in 2012, “Democracy Now” in 2016.
