Andrea Bernard started playing taekwondo during her time at law school, and she began training at the Young Chough Academy in Toronto.
During 2012, she became qualified for Summer Olympic via the Pan American Taekwondo Olympic Qualification Tournament in Querétaro, Mexico.
At the World Championships in Gyeongju, South Korea, she was disqualified in her first round bout in the women's welterweight.
