Andy joined a Catholic elementary school during his early life. As a child, he liked the rock heavy metal genre rather than the other forms of music, this was also the main reason for his involvement in the alternative rock band.

Musical Career
His band opened up their accounts on the entertainment industry with their debut album We Stitch These Wounds on July 20, 2010. The album sold over 13K copies in only its first week.
The album was also on the no. 1 position on the Billboard Independent chart. The band has also created other albums such as Set the World on Fire, Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones, and Black Veil Brides.
In 2014, Andy set out on a new journey apart from a band under the moniker Andy Black. He worked as a solo artist because he wanted to create something different from what the band was used to play. He wanted to create a different sound within the band but, it didn't work out so, he decided to get on with a solo project.
May 19, 2014, saw the premiere of Andy's first solo song They Don't Need to Understand. Two years later, he released his first solo album The Shadow Side.
Apart from his career as a musician, Andy Biersack has also taken up acting as his second career choice. He has appeared in several ads and short movies.
His full-length film was in the Black Veil Brides feature movie, Legion of the Black. The singer was also cast as Johnny Faust in the supernatural thriller American Satan.
Andy has been having a romantic love affair with Juliet Simms since 2011. They have been dating each other as a boyfriend and girlfriend from that time on. Juliet Simms is also a pop singer and she is also known for being the runner-up of NBC's The Voice in 2012.
