At the tender age, Angela James developed an interest towards sports as a tomboy. At the age of eight, she began her career playing in Flemington Park house league. She also played for boys’ hockey team. Later, at the age of 13, she began playing in a senior women’s hockey with the Newtonbrook Saints.
Angela James then joined the softball team in 1983 as outfield and battling cleanup and led her school to OCAA women’s softball championship. She was honored with OCAA all-star (1984 and 1985). Firstly, she played as a forward and later played as a defense and was named as the OCAA's most valuable player, however, won the silver medal after losing the finals.
As an ice hockey player, Angela James has been honored with League’s most valuable player six times. She then played for numerous teams including Toronto Red Wings, Newtonbrook Panthers, and Beatrice Aeros etc.
James began her international career with First women’s world championship 1987. She then started playing with Team Canada, in IIHF World Women’s Championship in 1990. She gave her diligent performance in three additional world championships and was honored with world championship (1992,1994 and 1997 championship).
James left the team in 1998 and played a final international tournament in 1999. She was one of the first women who represented in the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) in 2008.
Angela James is also a former referee and coach in Canada and currently works as the Senior Sports Coordinator at her former club "Seneca College" in Toronto.
Moving towards her personal life, Angela James officially revealed that she is lesbian. Her zodiac sign is Capricorn. James got married to her partner, Ange after dating for two years. The couple welcomed their first child, Christian in 1999 and later she gave birth to twins, Michael, and Toni. Currently, the couple is leading a blissful life with their children.
