She started her professional career in the year 2003 and had to go through several difficulties in the starting phase. She claimed 100 wins after defeating Marion Bartoli at the WTA German Open.
2006 was quite a productive year for Angelique, and she reached four ITF finals and won three of them. She also made into the semi-finals of US Open Tour in 2011, during which she was ranked at no#92 around the world.
