Born in San Diego, California

She was from upper middle class family. She was born in San Diego, California, United States of America. Her father was a major in the U.S. Marine Corps. The Wilson family moved frequently, due to her father's military career. They lived in Panama and Taiwan before settling in Seattle, Washington, in the early 1960s.

1970

Joined a local band, White Heart

She was shy because of a stutter; Wilson wanted to fulfill her musical dreams. Wilson began her career from a local band, White Heart, in the early 1970s. However, this band changed its name to Hocus Pocus, and then in 1974, to Heart.

 

1976

Released their first album Dreamboat Annie

In 1974, her younger sister Nancy joined Heart and this band shifted to Canada. They recorded their debut album Dreamboat Annie in Vancouver in 1975 and released it in the United States the following year, with "Crazy on You" hitting No. 35 on the US charts. 

 

1977

Released their second album, Little Queen

In 1977, they released their second album, Little Queen, and in 1978, Dog & Butterfly. She also sang the duet "Almost Paradise" with Mike Reno in the movie Footloose from 1984. This song reached number seven on Billboard's Hot 100. 

2006

Began her solo career

Wilson is also a solo artist. In 2006, she started recording her debut solo album, Hope & Glory, produced by Ben Mink, and released by the Rounder (Zoe) Music Group on September 11, 2007. Three singles were released from the project, "Little Problems, Little Lies", "Isolation" and "Immigrant Song".

In 1970s, Wilson began dating Michael Fisher, the manager of Heart and her younger sister Nancy was involved with lead guitarist Roger Fisher, Michael's younger brother. They didn't have any children together. They dated each other for a shy of decade.

Separated with Michael Fisher

She dated Michael Fisher for many years. However, in 1979, they finally separated and she later claimed that Michael had fallen in love with another woman and they parted. She claimed that he cheated him and that fade away her belief towards him.

Adopted a daughter, Marie

She was in relationship with Michael Fisher, for about a decade. However, he didn't have any children with him. She love children very much but she didn't have any children, so she adopted her daughter Marie in 1991 and her son Dustin in 1998.

She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2013, she was also honored by this prestigious award. She along with her sister Nancy Wilson, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with the rest of the band Heart in February 2013.
