Anthony's interest in music induced when he was a child. When he was ten, he began singing in his church's choir. He received his formal education from South Mecklenburg High School. When he was there, he also won the choir under the direction of Mark Setzer. In 1993, he moved to New York City and signed a recording deal with Andre Harrell's Uptown Records. Later he signed a recording deal with MCA Records. His debut album, XTC was finally released on 29th of October 1996.
