Ashley Modurotolu Banjo is an English street dancer, Choreographer, and actor. He was born on 4 October 1988, to father Funso Banjo and mother Danielle Banjo in Leytonstone, London, England. He was raised along with his two siblings: a brother Jordan Banjo and sister Talisa Banjo. He is the leader of dance troupe Diversity. Banjo is of English nationality and of Black ethnicity.
He stands 6 feet and 6 inches(height). Interested in dancing, Ashley is a self-taught dancer who says that he has been teaching himself dance routines since the early age of 14.
Banjo created their dance group 'Swift Moves' with his brother Jordan and other nine friends. They later changed the name to Diversity. The group also won the Street dance Weekend 2007.
After completing his high school, Banjo left his studies and started dancing. That same year, his dance group Diversity won Britain's Got Talent (BGT) in 2009. Post their win, the group went on tours for dance performances in 2012 and 2013. Ashley Banjo, who was also the leader of the group, choreographed the dance performances.
The group was also nominated in the Dance section of South Bank Show and also won an award at the Pride of Britain Awards.
Asley Banjo appeared in Got to Dance (2010-2014) as a judge for all its five seasons. He also filmed BBC game show Can't Touch This (2015) with co-host Zoe Ball. Banjo was again seated in the judge's seat for ITV series Dance Dance Dance, hosted by Alesha Dixon and Will Best. He is also part of the judging panel on Dancing on Ice since early 2018.
Ashley Banjo, who got name and fame from dancing, also found his love and future wife from it. Banjo met his girlfriend and now wife Francesca Abbott as they came from a common profession; she was from a dance troupe called 'Out of the Shadows'. They dated each other for six years before getting engaged and later marrying the same year in 2014. They do not have any child.
Ashley Banjo is an official ambassador of the United Dance Organisation. His salary per episodes he spends shooting/hosting shows or for dance performances is not recorded yet. But his estimated net worth is about $1 million.
