Bae was born as Bae Doona in Jongno District, Seoul, South Korea to Hwa-yeong Kim and Bae Jong Deok. Her mother is also a well known Korean address. She is Korean and is of Korean ethnicity. She is five feet and six inches tall. 

1998

Began her modeling career

In 1998, when Bae was attending Hanyang University, she was discovered by the modeling agents. During that time, she was walking in some street in Seoul and they pursued her to begin her modeling career. She then appeared in the COOLDOG's catalog as a model.

Began her acting career

Though she began her modeling career in 1998, she changed her mind to acting within a year. She made her acting debut in the TV series, School starring the role of Bae Doo-na. She also appeared in the TV series, Ad Madness.
