Becky was born and raised in Rapid City, South Dakota. There she was enrolled at Stevens High School where she played high school basketball. While she was in her junior year, she was named South Dakota Miss Basketball. During her senior year, she was named South Dakota Player of the Year and the female class athlete by her graduating class. In 2007, she joined San Antonio Stars. In 2013, while she was playing against Los Angeles Sparks, she tore her left anterior cruciate ligament and this ended her professional career as a player. On 5th of August 2014, she joined San Antonio Spurs as its assistant coach. On 3rd of July 2015, she was named the head coach by San Antonio Spurs and she made a record being the first ever female head coach in the NBA's Summer League.
