Ben Shapiro is an American conservative political commenter and writer. He is known for his book Brainwashed: How Universities Indoctrinate America’s Youth which was published in 2004. Shapiro also writes a column for Creators Syndicate. Likewise, he also serves as editor-in-chief for The Daily Wire which he founded himself.
Early life
Benjamin Aaron Shapiro was born in Los Angeles on 15th January 1984. Shapiro went from Walter Reed Middle school skipping two grades to Yeshiva University High school of Los Angeles and graduated in 2006.
He then attended the University of California, Los Angeles and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. He then did his cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2007.
In March 2012, he started an independent consultancy in Los Angeles under his own name Benjamin Shapiro.

From a very young age, Shapiro was interested in politics. He started his career writing columns for different daily papers and sites like FrontPageMag.com, FamilySecurityMatters.com, Human Events, and ABCNews.com.
At the age of 17, he started his own nationally syndicated column. He had already written two books by the age of 21. His book Brainwashed argues about students not being exposed to a variety of viewpoints at universities and those who don’t have strong opinions being overwhelmed by atmosphere domination by liberal instructors.
Shapiro has written a number of books which includes Project President: Bad Hair and Botox on the way to the White House, Brainwashed, Prime Propaganda: The True Hollywood Story of How the Left Took Over Your TV and many more.
Shapiro’s fifth book Bullies: How the Left’s Culture of Fear and Intimidation Silences Americans was published in 2013 by Threshold Edition.
As a journalist
On October 7, 2013, he co-founded the TruthRevolt U.S. news and activism website in association with the David Horowitz Freedom Center. Shapiro became editor-at-large of Breitbart News, a news and opinion website founded by Andrew Breitbart in 2012. However, he resigned from his position as editor-at-large in March 2016.
On September 21, 2015, Shapiro founded The Daily Wire and is editor-in-chief as well as a host of his online political podcast. In 2017, the podcast was downloaded 10 million times each month and in 2018 Westwood One began the Ben Shapiro Show on the radio.
Shapiro was also engaged with different TV shows, and radio shows like The Dennis Prager Show, The O’Reilly Factor, The Lars Larson Show, Fox and Friends, and Scarborough Country.
For his diligent work, Shapiro has won Emma Awards, two Peabody Awards, and two Dupont Awards. He was also named for SXSW Film Festival as well.
Controversy
On an episode of ‘Dr. Drew on call,’ he got into an on-air fight with a transgender reporter Zoey Tur during a conversation about Caitlyn Jenner. His views on LGBTQ and muslims community, in particular, are also controversial.

Ben Shapiro is married to Mor Toledano since 2008. The two is blessed with two children, a son, and a daughter. Ben’s daughter Leeya Eliana Shapiro suffered from an atrial septal defect during her childhood.
Shapiro and his wife practice Orthodox Judaism. Ben has three sisters and he is a cousin of actress Mara Wilson and Daniel Ben Wilson. Besides his marriage, there is no rumor about his affairs, past relationship or divorce.
