Bibi Besch was born on 1st February 1942, in Vienna, Austria. She was the youngest daughter of an Austrian racing driver Gotfrid Kochert and theater actress Gusti Huber. She also had an elder sister Christiana Barbara Kochert.
While she was still a kid, her mother married a radio executive and former U.S. Army captain Joseph Besch in 1946; she took her stepfather surname, Besch. Actress Bibi belongs to white ethnicity with the birth sign of Aquarius.
Besch grew up in Chappaqua, New York, with her sister and half-sisters Drea and Andre. There she attended her elementary and junior high school. She graduated from Horace Greely High School in 1959. Later, she attended Connecticut College for Women and moved to New York City before graduating.
