Bill Griffeth is an American financial journalist. He currently works for CNBC Cable Network.
Bill was born as William Curtis Griffeth, on October 7, 1956, in Los Angeles, California, to his mother Frances Griffeth and father Charles Griffeth.
Bill attended the California State University, in Northridge, where he received a bachelor’s degree in journalism, along with his future co-anchor Sue Herera.
In 1981, Bill joined Financial News Network where he worked as an anchor for 10 years. During his period on FNN, he was nominated for a CableACE Award for his 1987 Stock Market Crash coverage.
In 1991, Griffeth joined CNBC where he anchored numerous programs, including Power Lunch, which he co-anchored alongside Herera.
CNBC president Mark Hoffman announced on November 19, 2009, that Bill would take a one-year leave from the network.
Bill went back to the channel on January 3, 2011, and started anchoring a new news show Closing Bell that airs on Monday-Friday at 3-4pm ET.
Bill is happily married to his loving wife Cindy Griffeth. He looks pretty secretive about his personal life.
However, multiple sources have confirmed that the couple shares two children, a son Chad Griffeth and daughter Carless Griffeth, together. The family resides in Park Ridge, New Jersey.
Most recently, Bill had a DNA test on himself after which he found that Charles was not his biological father.
