He was born in Leipzig, East Germany to parents Simone and Jorg Kaulitz. He has one identical twin brother named Tom. His parents got divorced when he was seven years old. He is German and is of white ethnicity.

2001

Formed the Band, Tokio Hotel

Bill Kaulitz formed a musical band associated with his brother Tom Kaulitz, Gustav Schafer and Georg Listing and named it Tokio Hotel in 2001. He is known for being the lead singer of the band Tokio Hotel since 2001. The band sold more than 10 million CD's worldwide.

2005

Released first album, Schrei

The first release of Tokio Hotel band was Schrei. This album was in German language and that was released in 2005. Schrei sold more than half a million copies worldwide. This album songs became number one in Germany within a month of release.

2007

Released second album, Zimmer 483

After the grand success of their first album, Tokio Hotel released their second album in February 2007.  The album name was Zimmer 483. They began Europe tour for publicity of that album. 375,000 copies of that album sold in just two months of released.

Released Third album, Humanoid

Tokio Hotel released their third album in 2009. Their two albums were already popular worldwide and it turns of their third album. This album was recorded in both in English and German version. This album was also hit.

At the age of ten, he and his identical twin brother Tom began performing on stage in live shows in Magdeburg. They performed few small shows. Though they were unknown, but the audience loved their performances.
