Bo Burnham was born as Robert Pickering Burnham on the 21st of August, 1990 in Hamilton, Massachusetts. He is the youngest son of Scott Burnham and Patricia Burnham. He is of American nationality and his ethnicity is white.

Bo Burnham began his musical comedy journey in 2006. Later after some years in 2009, he released his debut song, Bo Burnham. He then began learning guitar and a digital piano. On 10th March 2009, he released his debut comedy album, Bo Burnham and his second album was released in 2010.
On May 21, 2010, Burnham recorded his first an hour stand-up special Words Words Words, for the House of Blues in Boston, as the network's new House of Comedy. The video was aired on the network on October 16, 2010.
