Brie Larson Ends Engagement With Boyfriend Alex Greenwald, Splits After Five Years of Dating

Brie Larson and Alex Greenwald have called off their engagement. The Glass Castle actress and her longtime boyfriend have got split after five years of dating, multiple sources have confirmed.

Alex, 39, and Brie, 29, became engaged about three years ago in May 2016 when the Phantom Planet lead singer popped the question to the actress during a trip to Tokyo, Japan.

However, the amazing couple managed to keep the engagement news secret until Brie was spotted wearing a stunning diamond ring on Saturday Night Live two months later.

Following the romantic proposal, Brie and Alex, who made their last red carpet appearance as a couple on the Avengers: Infinity War premiere in April 2018, kept any wedding plans under wraps.

The pair even kept the PDA to a minimum on social media sites. The last picture the actress posted of her now-ex-fiancee on Instagram was in November. Alogside a photo of the twosome, she wrote at the time, "Happiness quite unshared can scarcely be called happiness; it has no taste."

Back in June 2018, Brie told Us Weekly at the Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards that the musician is "just a really good person."
