Early Life

Bristol Marunde was born on April 20, 1982, in Fairbanks, Alaska, the United States. He and his family moved to Sequim, Washington at an early age where he was raised by his parents.

He was the brother of strongman athlete Jesse Marunde who died of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy on July 25, 2007. Jesse placed second in a World's Strongest Man contest in China in 2005.

As for Bristol's education, it's unknown where he completed his graduation.

Bristol Marunde started his UFC career as an MMA fighter in 2005 in Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Ronaldo Souza after replacing Derek Brunson at Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey.

He was eventually selected for The Ultimate Fighter: Team Carwin vs. Team Nelson. He faced George Lockhart in the opening round and was later selected as a second pick by Shane Carwin.

Bristol was selected to fight Julian Lane on Episode 4. After two rounds, he won the fight and moved onto the quarter-final round but was defeated by Neil Magny.
