In the mid 1970s, while Bruce was attending Brevard Community College he met love of his life Kim Seib. They had romantic love affairs for few years and they decided to get married. They got married in 1978. Within a year, they welcomed a son named Greg Bochy. His second child Brett Bochy is now aged 28 years old and he is a professional baseball pitcher. Bruce has a towering height as he measures six feet and four inches tall. He is of white ethnicity.
While Bruce was in Melbourne, Florida, he joined Melbourne High School. He completed his high school graduation from there. Later on he joined Brevard Community College and then Eastern Florida State College. He became the state champion in 1975 and received an offer to play for Eddie Stanky but he turned pro as he was drafted to Houston Astros. He played for Houston Astros for about two years from 1978 as a catcher. He then joined New York Mets and San Diego Padres. In the early 1980s, he was traded back to New York Mets but he signed a free agent contract with San Diego Padres in 1983. He announced his retirement as a player in 1987 and began his managerial career with San Diego Padres. In 1989, he acted as the assistant manager of the Class-A Riverside Red Wave. In 1993, he was named the third-base coach by the San Diego Padres and with the departure of Riggleman; he became the head manager of Padres for the 1995 season. After managing Padres for about 12 years, he signed a three years contract with San Francisco Giants in 2007. He has been earning the annual salary of $4 Million as a manager and his net worth is $12 Million.
