On 24th of December 1943, Carl got married to Estelle Reiner. Estelle Reiner was an actress and singer from United States. She was also described as matriarch by The New York Times. As a married couple, they became parents of three children. On 25th of October 2008, she died of natural causes.
Carl began his career as a machinist repairing sewing machines. In the World War II, he joined United States Army and severed them as a radio operator. He was later transferred to Army Entertainment Section. He worked there for about three years till 1946 and then he began performing in the Broadway musicals. In 1950, he appeared in the show, Your Show of Shows where he was seen on air in skits. In 1954, he appeared in the comedy television show, Caesar's Hour and then in 1960, he joined The Steve Allen Show as a comedy duo with Brooks. He created the show, Head of the Family in 1959 but two years later it was re-titled to The Dick Van Dyke Show. His net worth is said to be around $70 million dollars.
