On the 21st of April 1973, Carlos got married to Deborah Santana. Deborah Santana is a writer as well as a producer. As a loving spouse, they welcomed three children together. Though they were married for more than three decades, it got dissolved after he filed for divorce in 2007 citing irreconcilable differences.
On the 9th of July 2010, while Carlos was performing in a concert of the Universal Tone Tour at Tinley Park, he proposed to American drummer Cindy Blackman. They began their romantic affairs then and they finally got married on the 19th of December 2010.
Carlo's father was a great mariachi musician and he began learning guitar and violin with him. When he was just five, he began learning violin and he was just eight when he played guitar for the first time. He was raised in Autlán de Navarro, Jalisco, Mexico but later he moved to Tijuana and San Francisco. In San Francisco, he joined James Lick Middle School and finally graduated from there. He also attended Mission High School and completed his high school graduation in 1965. Before he began pursuing his musical career, he worked as a dishwasher in a diner and busking. He began playing guitar after he joined several local bands in Mexico and San Francisco. In 1966, he performed at Bill Graham's Fillmore West after Paul Butterfield was unable to perform. He influenced his audience as well as Graham from his play. Within a year, he formed an American Latin rock band Santana with David Brown, Marcus Malone, and Gregg Rolie. He served as a lead guitarist. In 1969 when they were performing at Woodstock they were noticed by Columbia Records and were offered a recording contract. Their debut album Love Devotion Surrender was finally released on the 20th of July 1973 and their second album Illuminations was released in late 1974. He has been earning a lucrative amount of salary and his net worth is expected to be high.
