Prior to her news reporting career, Carolyn spent some time in MSU’s Army ROTC. She started her career in journalism after she worked on CBS affiliated in both FL, Orlando, and Lansing. But her professional career started off with a small radio station in Lansing.

She has worked on television channels such as WLFL-TV and WPGH-TV as an anchor. In 2002, she joined the WXYZ-DT Action News as the station’s health reporter. The same year, she joined the 7 Action News This Morning team.

She spent 13 years in Detroiters in the medical service and has covered almost every topic from hurricanes in North Carolina to former South African President Nelson Mandela’s first visit to Michigan.

In a similar way, she has interviewed famed celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Walters, Earvin Johnson, and Michael Jordan. She has also interacted with many victims of domestic violence and personally helped many.

Moving onto her relationship status, Clifford is a married woman. She is married to the love of her life Gregory F. Goss. Although she has not disclosed the exact marriage date, the couple has been married for a long time.

Their wedding took place in a private ceremony amongst a few close friends and family. Together they share three children James, Arielle, and Brooke. Clifford is the stepmother to Alyssa and Gregory Junior.

Clifford divorced her husband in a private way after her husband defrauded the city of Detroit by using the money generated from the business for other ventures. Her husband also used $180,000 that was meant for rent.

Clifford’s Health Issues

Carolyn suffered from a fibroid tumor almost a size of a football as well as smaller ones on the verge to destroy her kidneys. She got her surgery done in 2018 and luckily no cancer was seen. She recovered from her surgery in four weeks and returned to work.
