Bickmore joined the Anglican girls' school Perth College. After that she moved to the Curtin University of Technology, where she studied journalism, graduating in 2000. Later, she went to Melbourne, Victoria, in 2001, to pursue her career in media.
Bickmore began her career as a newsreader on 92.9FM in Perth, where she started working as an emergency fill-in for a sick colleague. After sometimes, she was appointed as a regular newsreader for the station. Later, she started working at Nova 100, a radio station, as an afternoon newsreader. After a year, she became the co-host of the drive show alongside Andy Ross.
In 2005, Bickmore became the "Best News Presenter" finalist in the Australian Commercial Radio Awards. She along with Rebecca Leahy and Michael received this award for "Best Community Service Project - Metro", on behalf of Nova 100 radio station.
In January 2017, Southern Cross Austereo announced that Bickmore and Tommy Little will host Carrie & Tommy across the Hit Network from 3 pm. She has also hosted a numerous television shows including Rove Live, The Project, and The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Bickmore is an Australian by nationality and belongs to white ethnicity. She married her longtime boyfriend Greg Lange in 2005. Her husband had also worked in the media industry. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy Oliver in 2007. Unfortunately, on 27 December 2010, her husband Lange died because of cancer.
On 8 October 2014, Bickmore announced that she was pregnant with her second child with her partner Chris Walker. On March 18, 2015, she gave birth to a girl, Evie. She lives in a romantic relationship with her boyfriend Chris and there is no conflict or rumor of separation between the couple.
Bickmore is one of the successful host and radio presenter. She earns a tremendous amount of money from her professional career.
