CBS' Norah O' Donnell wants to hold a long and detailed interview with vice president Joe Biden and has turned down at least two interviews. Norah had another goal in mind and it is not because the CBS anchor didn't want a coveted shot at interviewing the vice president. She said that she turned down the opportunities for short interviews because she wanted a long, in-depth sit-down interview with Joe and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden.
The interview was hired in October on '60 minutes'. It was also first prolonged interview the Bidens did following the passing Beau Biden over the summer and that was the interview for which O'Donnel will be awarded the White House Correspondents' Association Merriman Smith Memorial Award in broadcast journalism on Saturday. The award is especially for stories which show excellence in presidential news coverage under deadline pressure. Norah is a very graceful American print and television Journalist.
