Chancellor Jonathan Bennett was born on the 16th of April 1993, in Chicago, Illinois, the U.S. His father, Ken Williams-Bennett was an aide to former Chicago mayor Harold Washington and then-Senator Barack Obama, whereas, his mother, Lisa Bennett, is a secretary for the office of Illinois Attorney General.
Later, he relocated to Washington D.C. where he enrolled at Jones College Prep High School. At the time, he was a member of the Jewish Student Union.
His interest in music was an inspiration from Michael Jackson. Growing up, he began listening to hip-hop after getting his first hip-hop taste through Kanye West’s “Through the Wire” on the radio. Adding, he stated, he was inspired to begin rapping by West.
During his freshman year at Jones College Prep High School, he formed the duo instrumentally with a friend. He spent most of his third year and last year of his college, writing a draft for his debut project, 10 Day.

His debut mixtape 10 Day has been downloaded more than 500k times via mixtape-sharing site DatPiff, since its release. The mixtape helped him to make connections with producers such as Blended Babies, Chuck Inglish, and Kenny Jame$.
The following year, he again banged the music industry with his second mixtape Acid Rap, which also helped him to earn his first-ever award, “Best Hip Hop Awards”. Additionally, the mixtape was listed at #63 on Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, 26th spot on Rolling Stones, 4th by Complex, 12th on Pickford's.
His other hit mixtapes include Coloring Book, which also amassed various awards such as Grammy Awards, BET Hip-Hop Award, and BET Awards.
Likewise in the music industry, Bennett made his Hollywood debut, portraying the character, Marcus, in the short movie Clapping for the Wrong Reasons.
