However, he first appeared on screen in a 1993 motion picture film named CB4, starring Allen Payne and  Chris Rock. At that time, Charlie Murphy portrayed the role of the antagonist, Gusto. Prior to that, Murphy served in United States Navy almost for 6 years as a Boiler Technician.

Charlie Murphy did several voice covers such as for Budweiser radio commercials, Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim series, The Boondocks, featuring Regina King and John Witherspoon, and the voice for a pimp named Jizzy-B in Rockstar’s Game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas video game, etc.

Murphy later started his own sketch comedy series Charlie Murphy’s Crash Comedy on Crackle and has played Vic on the Adult Swim Live-action shows Black Jesus.

Charlie Murphy, a married man was married to Tisha Taylor Murphy on 12 August 1997. They were together until Tisha's death from cancer in 2009. He has altogether three children, 2 from Tisha Taylor and 1 from another wife whose name is not disclosed yet.

Murphy resided in Tewksbury Township, New Jersey, and was not involved in any kind of extramarital affairs, neither had any news or record of his girlfriend after the death of his beloved wife.
