Christian was born on September 18, 1998, in Hershey, Pennsylvania, the United States to father Mark and mother Kelley Pulisic. He grew up in his birthplace along with his siblings. His father and mother, both played collegiate soccer at George Mason University. In the 1990s, his father also played professional indoor soccer for the Harrisburg Heat and later he served as a coach for both youth and professional levels.
While Christain was seven years old he went to England for a year playing for the youth team of Brackley Town. During childhood, Pulisic also played for local U.S. Soccer Development Academy club PA Classics. Later he signed a contract with Borussia Dortmund in the German Bundesliga in February 2015.
Christain played his first game for Borussia Dortmund club in a 2–0 win against FC Ingolstadt. After that, he made his UEFA Europa League debut in a 2–0 victory against FC Porto. He scored his first goal for the club against Hamburger SV and became the youngest non-German and fourth-youngest player to score a goal in the Bundesliga.
