American retired mixed martial artist Charles David Liddell is also recognized as Chuck Liddell. The retired Fighter had competed in the UFC’s Light Heavyweight Championship and has an extensive striking background in Kickboxing, Karate, and Kempo. A professional since 1998, Liddell competed until 2010 and holds 23 fights records in the UFC.
Chuck Liddle was born on 17th of December 1969, in Santa Barbara, California, as Charles David Liddell. His birth sign is Sagittarius. By nationality, Liddle is an American, and he belongs to white ethnicity.
He was raised alongside his siblings by his single mother. From an early age, he along with his siblings were trained boxing techniques by his maternal grandfather. At 12, Liddell started off studying Koei-Kan Karate.
He enrolled at San Marcos High School where he played football as a center and linebacker while also besting at wrestling. Upon graduation, he joined California Polytechnic State University majoring in Arts. At the time, he became a Division I wrestler.
Before turning professional, Liddell recorded an amateur kickboxing record of 20 wins and 2 losses.
Further, Liddell signed his first official contract with UFC at the age of 29. He made his UFC debut against Noe Hernandez at UFC 7: Redemption. He won his debut fight via unanimous decision in the round 1.
The same year, he faced Jose Landi Johns and again won the fight. In his third UFC fight against Jeremy Horn, he got defeated via KO in the first round.
After that, he went on to give series of win against Kenneth Williams, Paul Jones, Steve Heath, Jeff Monson, Kevin Randleman, Guy Mezger, Murilo Bustamante, Amar Suloev, Vitor Belfort, and Renato Sobral at Neutral Grounds 11, UFC 22, International Fighting Championship: Warrior Challenge 9, UFC 29, UFC 31, Pride 14: Clash of the Titans, UFC 33, UFC 35, UFC 37.5, and UFC 40 respectively.
Furthermore, in a match against Randy Couture at UFC 43, he got defeated in the round three by TKO. Following his loss, Liddell entered the Pride 2003 Middleweight Grand Prix tournament as the UFC representative. At Pride, he first competed against Alistair Overeem at Pride: Total Elimination 2003, where he won the fight via Knockout in the round one.
Nevertheless, he lost his second Pride fight against Quinton Jackson at Pride: Final Conflict 2003, in the second round via TKO.
At UFC 47: It’s On, Liddle made his comeback where he faced Tito Ortiz and marked his success. Then consecutively six times, he recorded his win against Veron White, Randy Couture, Jeremy Horn, Randy Couture, Renato Sobral, and Tito Ortiz at UFC 49, 52, 54, 57, 62 and 66 respectively.
Adding up, his last UFC fight was against Rich Franklin at UFC 115 where he got defeated via KO in the round one. Prior to this, he played against Mauricio, Rashad Evans, Wanderlei Silva, and Keith Jardine.
At UFC 100 fan Expo in Las Vegas, Liddell was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.
Apart from his Fighting career, Liddell made his debut in the Hollywood with his debut role as Boy Scout in the movie “The Postman Always Rings Twice”. He has also starred in numerous Movies and TV series including How High, Bachelor party Vegas, War Pig, The Simpsons, Bones and many others.
Moreover, Liddell notably starred in the reality TV show Dancing with the Stars Season 9 where he was partnered with a professional dancer Anna Trebunskaya. He ended his journey in the show in week 4, reserving 11th position.
In addition, he appeared on Good Morning Texas for an interview but he fell asleep in mid-interview. His TV career also includes serving as a spokesperson on behalf of Monitronics.
