Craig Jamieson Mack was an American rapper and producer from Brentwood, New York. He is best known for his 1994 hit single which was released under his real name Flava In Ya Ear.
Craig died on 12th March 2018 due to a heart attack. He was rushed to the nearest hospital at Walterboro, South Carolina.
Craig Mack’s was born in Trenton, New Jersey, the USA on 10th May 1971. He grew up in South Carolina along with his family. He held American nationality and was of Afro-American ethnicity.
Craig’s first single was released under the name MC EZ in 1988. He is mostly known for his single hit Flava In Ya Ear which was a huge success reaching 9th on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Mack began working as a roadie by the early 90’s for fellow long Island-natives EMPD. Mack was given a chance to appear on a remix of Mary J. Blige track You Don’t Have to Worry in 1992.
On September 20, 1994, Funk Da World, Mack’s debut album was released including original Flava In Ya Ear, Making Moves with Puff, and Get Down which became mildly successful and reached Gold sales by 1995. However, The Notorious B.IG’s Ready to Die’s success and sells over four million copies in the US overshadowed his album.
After the stardom of Mack disappeared in the hip-hop world, he made a comeback with a deal with Street Life Records releasing his sophomore album Operation: Get Down. However, his singles failed to top the charts and were unable to repeat his success.
Mack than worked on his third album in 2002 which was scheduled to be released in 2007. After the release of his album, Mack disappeared from hip-hop until 2012 when a video of him joining a Christian Ministry was leaked surprising his family and fans.
On May 22, 2016 overcomer ministry’s YouTube channel released a video of Mack’s testimony with a title Craig Mack Testimony. In the video, Mack appeared in the middle of the church to rap about conspiracy and Christianity.
His songs expressed his belief and he even decided not to go back to mainstream rap. Mack resided in Walterboro, South Carolina from 2012 until his death.
In 2017, The Mack World Sessions was released which contained 18 tracks like Mack Come Thru, Hip Hop Life, Da New Wold Sessions, recorded between 2000 and 2006. Later in April 2018, United Elementz Media released Mack’s last recording Praise The Lord, through Bandcamp.
Mack had been in a married relationship with Roxanne since 1995. The two were blessed with two children. Mack may have died but is alive in memories. Talking about his past affairs, relationship, and girlfriend, there is no any other information.
Mack died on March 12, 2018, at the age of 46 from heart failure. It was reported that Mack was suffering from heart disease which developed shortness of breath, from a long time before his death. According to DJ Scratch, it was reported that he was ill and was prepared to face a grim outcome. Mack was rushed to the nearest hospital at the time of his death at Walterboro, South Carolina.
