After dating Erik Stevens for several years, Cristie finally got married to him in 2006. Erik Stevens is a businessman and they are currently living in Scottsdale, Arizona. They welcomed their first child together on 8th of December 2013, via a surrogacy.
Cristie was fascinated towards golf since she was a child. She put her off the golf when she was just eight. Like her professional career, she also had a successful amateur career. She won the Junior Orange Bowl International Golf Championship in 1994 and was honored as the American Junior Golf Association Junior Player of the Year in 1995. In 1996, she completed her high school graduation from Miami Sunset High School and she also turned professional that year. At the end of that year, she took part in Futures Tour and Players West Tour.
She began appearing in the LPGA Tour events since 1997. Though her professional career had a slow start, she won her first LPGA event in 2002. She won LPGA Championship in 2010 and was also ranked 1st in Women's World Golf Rankings on 28th of June 2010.
