A native of Santa Monica, California, Dan Gilroy was born on 24th of June 1959. His father Frank D. Gilroy is a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and mother Ruth Dorothy is a sculptor and writer. He was raised alongside his brothers Tony Gilroy who is now a screenwriter and director and Fraternal twin brother, John Gilroy, a film editor. Dan Gilroy is an American and belongs to white ethnicity.
Talking about his education, Gilroy studied at Washingtonville High School and later he graduated from Dartmouth College.
