He is married man. He got married to Helen Corbett in 2000. They met each other while they were working in BBC. She was a BBC makeup artist at that time. They are still each other spouse and enjoying their stable married life.

1995

Began his career in Television

He began his career in television and that was in the year 1995. He worked for WCFT-TV in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Soon he then moved to KWTX-TV in Waco, Texas and there his English accent became big hit with viewers.

1997

Helped launched BBC News 24

In October 1997 Daniel Corbett persuaded back to England in order to help launch BBC News Channel (News 24). He gave the first weather broadcast on the News Channel back in November 1997. He was the key member of the weather team.

2002

Returned back to USA

He returned back to USA in 2002.  Afterwards, he worked as a meteorologist for a number of TV stations across the southern states, including KRIV in Houston, Texas and then he worked for an ABC affiliate KGUN-TV where he was a Weather Presenter and Feature Reporter.

2004

Returned to UK

In 2004, he returned to United Kingdom from United States. He started working at BBC and Met Office. He was the weather broadcaster for the BBC's coverage of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships live for two weeks each summer.

Announcement of leaving BBC

He announced on BBC Radio 5 that he was leaving BBC on 17 may 2011 to join the Met Service in New Zealand as their Media and Communications Meteorologist. He presented his final 5 live forecast that was on 18 may 2011.
