David Ramsey is an American actor best known for his role as Anton Briggs in the Showtime TV series Dexter. He is also famous for his role as Joseph in Mother and Child (2009), and as John Diggle in the CW TV show Arrow.

David was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 17, 1971, to mother Jeraldine Ramsey and father Nathaniel Ramsey. Ramsey holds an American nationality and belongs to the Black ethnicity. He finished his studies at Wayne State University.

Ramsey started his acting career in 1987 with a small role as George Masterson in the movie Sacred Stiff. In 1996, he appeared in The Nutty Professor as a student and in A Very Brady Sequel as Brent, a lifeguard.
He got recognition in 1998 after he participated in the UPN sitcom Good News as Pastor David Randolph. He was also featured in Ali: An American Hero as Muhammad Ali in 2000. He later appeared in the romantic drama Pay It Forward and also got a recurring role in the TV show For Your Love from 2000-01.
In 2001, he starred in the South African comedy film Mr. Bones as Vince Lee. He also starred in All of Us, The West Wing, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Ghost Whisperer, Hollywood Residential, and Wildfire.
