Debra made her film debut in 1992 by playing the role of Aunt Dorothy in the drama romance movie, Prelude to a Kiss, alongside Alec Baldwin, Meg Ryan, Patty Duke, Kathy Bates and Ned Beatty.
Later in 1994, she starred in Picnic for a month for which she had received a Tony nomination. In the following year, she played the role of Geneva in the drama television film, Redwood Curtain, alongside John Lithgow, Catherine Hicks and Jeff Daniels.
In 2000, Debra Monk won an Obie Award for The Time of the Cuckoo. Her other film credits are Quiz Show, The First Wives Club, Jeffrey, Reckless and The Brass Teapot.
