Devyn Nekoda is a Canadian actress and dancer best known for portraying the role of Vanessa Morita in Family Channel drama series Backstage. As an actor, she has appeared on The Next Step and Max and Shred.
Early Life
Devyn Nekoda was born on December 12, 2000, Brantford, Ontario, Canada. She was raised with her younger brother Kove by their parents. Her father and mother's names are Doug Nekoda and Leslie McMullen respectively.
She started dancing at a very young age, at the time when she could not even speak properly. She started taking dance lessons at Lisa Naves Dance Company when she was just two years old.
She is still a part of the dance institute where she became a professional in a variety of dance forms such as ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap, hip-hop, and acrobatics.
She has also attended the Toronto School of Circus Acts.

Being a dancer, Devyn Nekoda has been performing in numerous stages and shows for years, earning multiple accolades.
She is the winner of the Miss Mini Dancefest and the Miss Mini Terpsichore National Competition. She was also awarded a Triple Threat Convention Intermediate Threat accolade.
She was the third runner-up in the American Dance Awards National Competition and first runner-up in the Dance Canada National Competition.
Nekoda made her acting debut with Degrassi: The Next Generation in 2014. She was the youngest cast member on the CTV hit drama series and appeared for one year until 2015.
She then appeared on Family Channel and Disney Channel hit show Backstage in 2016. In the series, she portrays Vanessa Morita alongside Aviva Mongillo, Julia Tomasone and Josh Bogert.
