2004

Graduated from University of Connecticut

She received her primary education from Don Antonio Lugo High School. Tall with the big talent in basketball, Diana won 2000 Cheryl Miller Award and then she joined University of Connecticut in 2000. She remained there till 2004.

Joined Phoenix Mercury

During the WNBA 2004 draft, Diana Taurasi was signed by the Phoenix Mercury. As a basketball player, she plays as a guard but when she joined Phoenix Mercury in 2004, she played as a forward as most of her players were short.

1999

Was named Ms Basketball State Player of the Year

She has been receiving several prestigious honors since she was child. While she was in senior year of her high school, she was named Ms. Basketball State Player of the Year. She received this award in 1999 and 2000.

2001

Won NCAA championships

After she joined University of Connecticut with the completion of her high school graduation, she took UC to three consecutive NCAA championships. She particularly played as a point guard and shooting guard and UC were really happy to have her.

Won FIBA Americas Championship

Besides having the successful professional club career as club player, she also had an outstanding international career. In 2000, she took part in FIBA Americas Championship as one of the member of USA Women's U18 team and she also won the gold medal in this competition.

Took part in 2004 Summer Olympics

As a senior basketball player, she took part in 2004 Summer Olympics representing US Women's National Basketball. Like the FIBA Americas Championship, she also claimed the gold medal in this tournament. They played against Australia in the final game.

Joined Spartak Moscow

After playing for Phoenix Mercury for about two years since 2004, she entered into her international career in 2006 by joining WBC Spartak Moscow Region in 2006. She played there till 2010 but at the end of 2010 she became involved in the doping allegations.

Was found positivist in the doping test

In 2010, she joined the Turkish club, Fenerbahçe Istanbul. While she played with this club she was found positive in the doping test. After that she was suspended from the league till the next session. However, two months later in February, her doping allegation was cleared and her allegation was absolved.

WNBA Most Valuable Player Award and Naismith College Player of the Year award winner, Diana Taurasi is also an actress. In 2006, she made her acting debut. That year, she appeared in the movie Believe in Me playing the role of Believe in Me.
