Japanese pop star Ayumi Hamasaki is the heartthrob of Japan. Despite being happily married once to Tyson Bodkin, the pair is no longer together. Yes, you read it right. The pair dissolved their marriage after being together as husband and wife for three years.

Hamasaki revealed the huge news through her official Team Ayu blog. The divorce from Bodkin is Hamasaki’s second as she was previously married to Australian model and actor Manuel Schwarz.

Hamasaki met her former husband Bodkin while she was on a vacation to Los Angeles back in January 2013. The former got engaged by the end of 2013 and tied the knot.

Singer Ayumi made a lot of her fans happy by sharing the great news of her wedding through her official fan club site Team Ayu. She even pleaded with everyone to watch the pair quietly as Bodkin was a normal medical student and not a celebrity.

The ex-pair Ayumi and Tyson were surrounded by divorce rumors just a while after tying the knot. Once, she posted a photo on her Twitter where she was seen hugging a tall man who didn’t appear to be Bodkin. The post’s hashtags included: “#let’s anticipate a new something“, “#bye bye my love” and “#hello my love” which further fueled these rumors.

However, Ayumi later clarified that it was the lyrics of her song ‘You & Me.’ She got quite mad and said that the reporters don’t have anything else to report and it was a memory of a fun night and nothing sad had happened. She even blocked a few of her fans who annoyed her with their questions.

Eventually, Ayumi's marriage got dissolved with Bodkin due to some unknown reasons. However, she wrote on her Team Ayu blog:

Today, there’s something I need to tell you all.
My partner, the man who walked this road with me together for three years, and I have decided to part ways. He is walking his own path, and I will walk mine.
As far as this announcement goes, I’m writing here because I wanted you to hear it from me first. For now, I’m focused on rehearsals for the TA tour and recording new songs, and will keep on going!!!
