Yella has been active since 1984. He made his debut in music by performing in the albums Slice and Kru Groove in 1984. That year, he joined an electro group World Class Wreckin' Cru, and began producing several albums. Their first album World Class was released in 1985 and it was followed by their 1986 second and last album Rapped in Romance. In 1986, he formed an American hip hop group N.W.A and finally released their debut album Straight Outta Compton on the 9th of August 1988.
