Began his writing career

Being the great writer, he went of writing for several renowned artists. In the early 1950s, he began his partnership with Norman Lear and start writing several monologues for Danny Thomas. They also wrote several times for Ford Star Revue. 

1963

Began his solo career

His relation with writer and comedian Norman Lear went on fading and they decided to be apart and began their own career. In the early 1960s, he began his own solo writing career and then started writing for stars like George Gobel, Dinah Shore and many more. 

May 18 , 1998

He died because of cardiac arrest

He was leaving the healthy life and was wining several prestigious awards being the head writer in the show Carol Burnett. But on 18th of May, 1998, some bad news came out and it was the death of Ed Simmons that day, he died of cardiac arrest.
