Emmett O'Hanlon was born on July 9, 1990, in New York, New York, United States, to Irish parents. He spent his childhood in Ireland visiting family while growing up.

In 2014, Emmett joined the group Celtic Thunder as a featured artist. Keith Harkin and George Donaldson were among the members of the band.
While with the band, he appeared on the 2014 Christmas Symphony Tour, the 2014 Celtic Cruise, and 2015 Very Best of Tour.
He is also featured on both the DVD and CD of Legacy Vol I & II, in addition to the re-release of Celtic Cruise albums Heartland, Take Me Home, The Show and Heritage.
