Farida Jalal married to an actor , Tabrez Barmavar in 1978 . The couple met in the sets of Jeevan Rekha and fell in love in the course of the film. After a few years of marriage their son, Yaseen Jalal was born. Tabrez, Jalal's husband later died in the year 2003, and Farida is widowed.
Farida Jala started her career in 1960 when she won Filmfare's United Film Producers Talent Hunt competition. She started her acting career as a child in 1963 in Yeh Raaste Hain Pyar Ke. Farida started her debut film as an adult in Taqdeer (1967).
