Barbara Bush, wife of the 41st President of the United States, George H. W. Bush is no more among us, a family spokesman said. Barbara passed away on Tuesday, April 17. She was 92.
Barbara whose plain-spokesman manner and utter lack of pretense made her more popular at times than her late husband,
What you see with me is what you get. I'm not running for president — George Bush is,
she said during the 1988 Republican National Convention, where George, then vice president, was nominated to succeed Ronald Reagan.
The Bushes were married on January 6, 1945, and had the longest marriage of any presidential couple in American history. Mrs. Bush was one of only two first ladies who had a child, elected as president, the other was Abigail Adams, mother of John Quincy Adams and the wife of John Adams.
The world is shocked by the demise of such a wonderful woman. Barack Obama and Michelle Obama issued a statement on the passing of Barbara Bush which reads,

Bill Clinton tweeted,
Barbara Bush was a remarkable woman. She had grit & grace, brains & beauty. She was fierce & feisty in support of her family & friends, her country & her causes. She showed us what an honest, vibrant, full life looks like. Hillary and I mourn her passing and bless her memory.
