On the 23rd of September 1996, Gary got married to Tiani Warden. Tiani Warden is also an actress from the United States. They dissolved their married life on the 31st of August 2001.
These days, he is engaged to Steffanie Sampson. Steffanie Sampson is also an actress. As a loving couple, they welcomed their first child together a son, Luke Sampson Busey on the 23rd of February 2010.
Gary completed his high school graduation from Nathan Hale High School. He graduated from there in 1962. After that he won a football scholarship and then he joined Pittsburg State University. He then joined Oklahoma State University. There he became more interested in acting and then he dropped out from there with just one class short of graduation.
Gary began his career as a drummer in The Rubber Band. Later he joined the band Carp and he also played an important role to release their debut album in 1969.
Gary made his acting debut in 1968 and that was in the movie, Wild in the Streets. The following year, he appeared in the television series, The High Chaparral. His breakthrough role came in 1974 after he appeared in the movie, Thunderbolt, and Lightfoot. Till now, he has appeared in more than 100 movies and television series.
