A Native of Rome, Italy Giada De Laurentiis was born on 22nd of August 1970. Regarding her nationality, she is an Italian and is of Caucasian ethnicity. She is the eldest child of Alex De Benedetti, an actor/producer and Veronica De Laurentiis, an actress.
As a child, Giada spent most of her time at her maternal grandfather’s restaurant, DDL Foodshow. Later her parent took divorce and Giada along with her siblings moved to Southern California. There she attended Marymount High School and upon graduation, she enrolled at University of California, Los Angeles, where she received a bachelors degree in social anthropology.
After her academic education, Giada joined Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, with ambitions of becoming a pastry chef. She then started her career as a professional chef and began working in several Los Angeles restaurants, remarkably the “Wolfgang Puck-owned Spago." Later Giade served as a food stylist due to which the Food Network contacted her.
In 2006, Giada appeared in the show “Behind the Bash” as a host. The following year, she started a new show “Giada’s Weekend Getaways," where she travels to a featured locale and visits her favorite local culinary destination.
Further, she appeared as a presenter at the inaugural Food Network Awards and also as a guest judge on “Next Food Television Star."
In 2008, she came out with the TV show “Giada at Home." Later, she opened the restaurant “GIADA” which is situated inside the Cromwell, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
As an author, Laurentiis has published eight books including, “Happy Cooking New York: Pam Krauss Books," “Giada’s Feel Good Food. New York: Clarkson Potter," “Giada at Home: Family Recipes from Italy and California. New York: Clarkson Potter” and much more.
Currently, DeLaurentiiss is possibly single. Previously, she married her boyfriend, Todd Thompson, a fashion designer. The husband and wife couple is blessed with a baby boy, Jade Maries De Laurentiis-Thompson. However, the duo decided to end their married relationship and divorced on 3rd of September 2015. After divorce, Giada rumored on dating and marrying Bobby Flay.
